AnnMarie Conte, M.A., L.P.C., L.M.H.C.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (New Jersey & Connecticut) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Florida) with over 15 years of experience in helping people who are facing various life crises, such as parenting children with special needs, bereavement, divorce, relationship issues, caring for loved ones, exploring career options, LGBTQ issues, becoming a parent, and coping with unexpected illness, as well as assisting adults and children with stress reduction and in the development of coping, communication, social, parenting and other necessary life skills.

In addition to my professional experience, I am the mother of 3 adult children, 2 who have special needs, so, I have both a professional and personal understanding of the challenges that parents face in raising children with special needs.

As a cancer survivor, and having experienced other unexpected adverse life events, I have a personal understanding of the feelings that can occur when one is faced with life-changing and unexpected illnesses and/or traumatic events and how to navigate through those challenging times.

My goal is to help people to develop positive coping strategies to face whatever unpredictable or chronic challenges that they may experience in their journey through life, and to provide supportive, confidential therapy throughout the process.

My approach is eclectic encompassing therapeutic techniques from various theoretical approaches, including, but not limited to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies,  Adlerian, and Rogerian modalities. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive place for clients to work through their own personal challenges, and help them to develop skills that can help them going forward in life. I offer clients a wide range of counseling and therapeutic techniques to guide them through life’s challenges.

Life can get difficult, and sometimes a little help from a caring professional can make things better.
